Hi there! I sure hope you are having a more relaxing Friday than I am.
I’m juggling watching Henry while trying to make three huge deadlines; therefore, I am freaking out. So I’m just popping in to say “hi!†and tell you about a little DIY project I took on a few weeks ago.
Our photo gallery staircase…
I was inspired by Young House Love’s hallway, as I’m sure thousands and thousands of others were. I took this project on slowly, doing a diagonal of about five or six frames before committing to doing an entire collage.
YHL has a great tutorial about using newspapers to figure out the layout of the frames. Truthfully, I just eyeballed it. It kind of shows, but I still think it looks pretty good. I may move around some of the frames when I have free time Henry goes to college.
YHL not only frames family pictures; they do little mementos, too. I liked this idea a lot and have been framing all sorts of things… from a piece of my grandmother’s wedding veil to a sheet on different types of tropical fish.
The pictures of our family and friends are great because when I walk downstairs with Henry, we look at all the pictures and identify grandmas and grandpas. I kept some of the frames blank so I can add in new pictures over time.
All of the frames were from IKEA, so this project was relatively inexpensive. It sure looks pretty, whether you’re looking at the staircase from the office, the front door, or from the top landing.
While I wrote this post, Henry amused himself in his new ball pit. LOVE THIS THING.
I want to crawl in.
Have a good one! I hope everyone makes their Friday deadlines and has a fun, stress-free weekend!
I really need to start a photo wall!
