Super Sunday

Can you tell that it’s laundry day?

A short run – but a good one.  And a warm one, thanks to the socks pulled up to my only pair of clean capris.  The whole family went for a run this afternoon.  We piled into the car and drove to the fancy neighborhood so we could play ‘Buy That Dream House,’ as well as a variation called ‘I Want That Landscaping.’

Three miles or so later, we headed home, settled in to watch the Super Bowl, and ate this delicious dinner.

Grilled tempeh with Tamari sauce and onions

Sweet potato waffle fries

Roasted Brussel sprouts and carrots

We lightly boiled the Brussel sprouts before roasting them for 20 minutes at 375, and they were so good.  Tender but toasted.

Gotta get through  my e-mails before my bed beckons!

I love the “let’s buy this house” game. 🙂 Now if only we actually could!

Your dinner looks tres yum – especially the brussel sprouts!

We watched the interesting bits of the SB – the anthems and the Beyonce bit. The rest of it isn’t REAL football, is it? 😉

Staying fit with having a baby is a lot more difficult to think. But if you determined enough than you can succeed. Looks like you are enjoying every bit of your sunday with your family. Is the food which you prepared for meal are healthy and low calories because i love them and i want to include them into my diet plans.

What brand of Tempeh do you buy? The brand at my store always tastes sort of “off”….is there some secret to making it taste like how I get it at restaurants? 🙂

you eat SO healthy! how do you never feel the urge for a huge bag of chips or a giant batch of chocolate chip cookies? I battle with it, and would love some help on the matter! do you ever just want chick fil a or at the very least have a sugary sweet attck?? thanks!

    • Caitlin February 4, 2013, 12:00 pm

Yes! I eat a lot of dark chocolate 🙂

If you really do battle with portion control of sweet stuff, my biggest piece of advice is not to keep that food in the house. For example, I go to ice cream shops instead of keeping a pint in the fridge because I would totally finish it off in one sitting otherwise.

Fantastic advice! I do the same thing with ice cream! If I have to drive there, pay over $5 usually and drive home, then I must REALLY want it!

I’m with y’all on the ice cream, I can’t resist it. I’ve been freezing bananas and putting them in the blender if that’s what I really want (and add a little bit of chocolate syrup). When it comes to candy, everyone knows I’m trying to eat healthy so they give me a hard time if they see me with it. I did recently buy a bag of dove chocolate that I’m hiding from my boyfriend, but that means I can only take it to work and I just put one in my lunch box.

Thanks! If its not around me…I’m okay…I actuallly prefer veggies and healthy stuff! But man….every now and then after just a little bite of sweets I go. To. Town!!! Appreciate the advice and am gonna try not to buy anything sweet in february…just enjoy socially! I tend not to plow through it in public like I do in private 🙂

Your brussels sprouts look so pretty! Mine always end up looking shriveled and burnt 🙁 Any tips?
