How’s your Sunday?  Ours is going well – slowly but surely.  We’ve got a work meeting, but otherwise, the day is ours.  I think a run and baby proofing are on the agenda…

Last night, I made a huge batch of pancakes for dinner, and it was so tasty, that I made the exact same thing for breakfast.

Bob’s Red Mill makes a really yummy gluten-free mix, and it tastes divine with grilled bananas and cranberry sauce on top.  This means that we’ve eaten all of our Thanksgiving cranberry sauce before Thanksgiving.  Whoops.  A trip back to the store is in order…

Homemade cranberry sauce is SO simple and so much better than store bought. Jenn at Peas n Crayons posted a crock pot version last week. Throw everything in the crock pot and let it make cranberry sauce while you are letting the turkey cook. Easy! Congrats to Henry on the crawling milestone!

I’ve never thought of putting cranberry sauce on top of pancakes before. Sounds delicious!

I’m guessing you didn’t grow up with some of the food combinations you make. Do you just make it up as you go along or do you find inspiration someplace?

Is the cranberry sauce from Trader Joe’s? It looks so good!

I’ve got to give grilled bananas a try. That just looks so good!

  • Rachel @ Running Daze November 18, 2012, 2:15 pm

I keep seeing these grilled bananas everywhere and I have yet to try them. Love the addition of the cranberry sauce! Did you make the sauce?

I’m ALL for cranberry sauce in large quantities this time of year. 😉 In fact, I’ve always been partial to the gel from a can (ha!) but I’ve been thinking about trying to make some this year. The whole idea just gets me all excited!

I bought some cranberry sauce from trader joes last week and just finished it off! Haha might as well celebrate thanksgiving for a couple weeks!

There’s a part of me that thinks cranberry and pumpkin shouldn’t “just” be fall flavors… then I wonder if I’d love ’em as much if I still had ’em in June? That breakfast looks mighty tasty.

Henry seems to be doing things so early! My first was the same way, sitting unassisted at 4 months, running by 10! Its so bittersweet…fun to see them grow and get so strong but makes the baby stage fly by even faster!

I love that you put cranberry sauce on your pancakes! I’m definitely going to have to do that! I have some leftover cranberry sauce in my apartment from a “friendsgiving” dinner that I have nothing to do with!

  • luv what you do November 18, 2012, 6:59 pm

I need to roast up more bananas for my pancakes. Those look soo good! Henry seems to be on teh go. This is my faovrite stage working with kids (I’m a peds PT) becasue every day they’re learning new things. I love it!

Hey Caitlin, are you still accepting stories for the project you were talking about last week? I was planning to send you something, but it completely slipped my mind until today! And: Henry is too cute for words! Such a sweet little boy and you can tell how loved he is 🙂

    • Caitlin November 19, 2012, 7:26 am

      Yes! Send it over.

  • Sarah (The Simple Dietitian) November 19, 2012, 6:23 am

Yum! I usually like to make sure there’s cranberry sauce sitting in my fridge most of the time…it’s good on so many different foods. 😀
