We finally found a fun outdoor activity for all of us – the Husband, Henry, and I – to enjoy without melting. Well, the Husband may have slowly melted. But Henry and I were fine.
We went to the driving range bright and early; Kristien hit a bucket of balls while Henry and I sat in the refreshments area and watched. This would’ve never worked without the ceiling fans! The whole experience was actually quite nice – a change of scenery, some fresh air.
Baby belly was bared to maximize coolness.
Henry’s first time on a golf course. Gotta start them early, right?
Despite the shade, when the temps really started to climb, we had to leave. It is RIDICULOUSLY warm out there. Where are the summer thunderstorms to cool it all down?!
The Husband and I were positively giddy to be out of the house. Since Henry was doing so well, we decided to extend our adventure and go to our friends’ house to meet their new baby.
First things first: we stopped off at Laurel Market for some food. Laurel Market is this cute little deli with the best food. It’s so inconspicuous; you would totally drive by it and not think twice. But the food is so delicious.
I got stuffed grape leaves and a very unusual artichoke salad.
The salad contained a mix of shredded cheese, basil, sundried tomatoes, and artichokes, as well as a few big slices of mozzarella cheese. Very unique but very tasty.
Plus chips!
Visiting our buddies (in their cool, cool air conditioned house) was fun, too. Heather had Mirabelle five days after I delivered Henry. I have high hopes they will grow up, fall in love, and make babies of their own. Fingers crossed!
Everyone else staying cool? I think these temps are high all over the country!
YAY for baby best friends!!! 🙂 Glad you had a change of scenery and I am so happy that Henry is such a GOOD baby!
