During a move, things inevitability get misplaced. I really don’t understand how this happens because, in theory, you go from full house –> van –> empty house –> new house –> empty van. But we’ve been searching frantically for two missing boxes ever since we arrived.
One was my purple box. I moaned and groaned when I realized it was missing – in the purple box were all my nice dresses and pre-pregnancy jeans. Not the worst box to lose, but certainly an expensive box to ultimately replace. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. I even called my old landlord to ask if he’d double check out attic – no dice. And then, tonight, I stumbled upon it! It was hiding under a pile of cardboard boxes to recycle in the garage. So it was never truly lost.
Maggie blur.
One thing that really is missing is the Husband’s tie collection. Yup. All his ties… vanished. We know we put them in a suitcase, but we’ve opened every suitcase, and they are nowhere to be found. And let me tell you – he loves ties (he wears a tie every day).
One thing NOT missing today – my appetite.
Rice cakes, PB, and banana times two while working.
The Husband was on cooking duty tonight. He made his favorite – tempeh sandwiches. Plus pear, potatoes, and pickles (P’s times three!).
Practiced my ketchup happy face skills:
And dessert:
One odd third trimester symptom that I’m currently experiencing is middle-of-the-night hunger. I wake up around 4 or 5 AM positively famished, no matter how I ate the day before. The only solution seems to be having a snack before bed and keeping a little tray of almonds on my nightstand – I end up munching on them in the dark. So, that being said, I’m off to snack and read.
Heck, maybe I’ll find those ties jammed behind a bookshelf…
What a mystery! I hope you find the ties. That’s really good you discovered your purple box. Moves are so stressful! Haha, I love the image of snacking on almonds in the middle of the night – very healthy midnight snack 🙂
