We have a costume party to attend tonight. We seriously considered going as Santa and an elf.
… But opted for something else. It’s a good one!
Before costume-hunting, Nicole and I went for a long run (well, long for me, these days!). We did 4.5 – 5 miles, walk/run style. I was pretty proud of myself, even though I really struggled towards the end and had to take more and more breaks. Mileage is mileage!
I had to laugh when Nicole showed up at my house because she was decked out in long sleeves and gloves. We have a running joke (ha!) about how I dress like it’s 20 degrees colder than she does. If she’s in shorts and a tee, I’m in fleece pants and a long-sleeve jacket. What can I say? I’m from Miami!
Anyway, imagine my surprise when she showed up, dressed like it was snowing. I stared at her and said, “Do I need gloves, too?†And she just looked at me like, Dude, if I’m wearing gloves, you should wear a parka.
Gloves were nice. It was chilly!
Post-run snack of goat cheese + hummus sandwich with an apple:
And Lunch #2 consisted of these AMAZING dairy-free, gluten-free enchiladas from Trader Joe’s:
So delicious. Loved the sauce.
With steamed kale on the side:
Gotta go work on my costume. Hint: It involves pulling my wedding dress out of the attic (I threw it in a garbage bag on our wedding night, and that’s how it’s been stored for the last 3 years… Whoops).
you threw it in a garbage bag?! haha… i actually kind of love that. i mean, it is just a dress… my mom insisted i press and preserve mine (seemed pointless to me!)
oh man, you would need an insulated body suit if you ever went running in chicago during the winter!
