Look who I found in Seattle:
Baby Garnish – as known as Cullen. His momma Emily used to live in Charlotte and we’ve been blog friends ever since. I was so happy my work trip allowed a bit of a layover so I could come over and see Emily, her husband, and their baby.
But first – a long, long five hour journey from Atlanta to Seattle. I didn’t realize how long of a journey it was until I was trapped on the plane!
For lunch: I bought a hummus, broccoli, and carrot platter from Starbucks and supplemented with some bread I had stashed in my suitcase.
And an apple + airplane peanuts.
And another Apple Crusher with a Kind bar, eaten while watching the new show Once Upon a Time, which was so good.
And then… I held myself my first newborn! I don’t have much baby experience and was pretty nervous that I was going to drop him or break his little neck or give him some scary traveler’s disease. But Cullen went easy on me. No crying or pooping.
And Emily, of course, looks BEAUTIFUL and happy and calm! So very, very wonderful. If you read her blog, she’ll be back to blogging regularly soon. She remarked that she currently feels like her little family is in a time warp. “Is it really MONDAY?†she said. I guess a baby will do that to a girl!
I’m going to snag the baby back and then jump in the shower. Then it’s time for an Operation Beautiful presentation and a red-eye back home!
This baby is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. Swoon.
