My first day back as a Girls on the Run head coach went well! This year, the Husband is coaching with me on Thursdays only. He wanted to coach more often but, thankfully, the clinic is really picking up and it’s just not feasible anymore. Coach Jen will join us on Tuesdays, and Coach Kim will be with me Tuesday and Thursday.
This is GREAT because it’s so helpful to have ‘extra’ coaches (you must have at least two at all times), especially because I’ll be traveling a lot for work in the next two months. And trust me, when you’re trying to wrangle 15 elementary schoolers, extra people are extraordinarily helpful.
Plus, I’m excited to see Jen on a regular basis… until she pops, of course.
We have four repeat girls from last season – Wahoo! I know their names, faces, and attitudes, and they know what to expect from me. Now I only have to learn 11 new names, faces, and attitudes, and we’ll be all set.
The other big deal of last night was this:
HOW TO CHOOSE?! Seriously. We stared at the television, cofounded.
(After much thought, here is our game plan for our DVD fail: Watch X-Factor live from 8 – 9 PM, watch The Office live, and watch Grey’s Anatomy live and record the second half of X-Factor.)
I’m feeling a little sore today from my harder workouts earlier in the week, but I’m going to try to stick to my plan and finish 5 miles late. Then, I have two days off and two races this weekend! Excitement.
Breakfast of champions (the Husband once again requested steamed greens… He loves ‘em):
Eggs, toast, and a big pile of steamy goodness.
Ready, set, WORK.
I know the feeling of the DVR fail! (How did we ever live without ’em, eh?). It helps to try searching for “all showings” of any particular show… to see if it will be airing again later in the week. Sometimes even the big networks re-run a brand-new show on a Friday evening or weekend night when they don’t have anything else to run. The only thing out of your conflicting lineup I’m DVR-ing is The Office though… I haven’t watched Grey’s in years!
