As I mentioned last night, Maggie’s full name is Margaret Thatcher.

Did you James’ full name is James Bond?  I’m not sure ‘which’ James Bond he is, though.  Probably Pierce Brosnan.   We named him James Bond because he’s an escape artist.  Fences have nothing on James.

Checking them into the vet is really, really fun.  🙂

If you have not tried this recipe yet, you are missing out (I know I say that every time, but it’s true).

A busy day ahead:  I need to prep for an Operation Beautiful presentation (I’m getting on a plane and going to Cincinnati tomorrow!).  I’m excited because I haven’t done many non-college presentations, and I’m going to speak to a church group of tweens and teens.   My schedule is rammed while I’m there, and it’s an in-and-out trip, but I think it’s going to be fun!

Maggie and James’ middle names are (in the comments section)…

Margaret ‘Britney Spears’ Thatcher (pre-breakdown days)

James ‘Barack Obama’ Bond (in a respectful way)

    • Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table January 27, 2011, 1:33 pm

      LOL!

I have a friend who named her sons Luke and Dillon after Luke Perry and his 90210 character. She though by spelling “Dillon” differently it would be less obvious. True story.

    • Sarah January 27, 2011, 4:16 pm

      hahah dirty jersey! love!

  • Marci January 27, 2011, 10:11 am

The grilled banana sandwich is all it’s cracked up to be. Especially with syrup on top. And nuts. And canned pumpkin. My puppy Lily has a nickname of Lily Bean, like a Jelly Bean, so maybe that is her middle name.

  • Bethany @ More Fruit Please January 27, 2011, 10:12 am

Hahaha, Maggie Thatcher and James Bond… I love it! And yes, I do feel like I’ve been missing out by not trying that sandwich before!

  • Eliz@The Sweet Life January 27, 2011, 10:12 am

  • Sarena (The Non Dairy Queen) January 27, 2011, 10:15 am

I love pet names! Ours’ are Luke and Leia. My husband had a bird he named Houdini, sadly, I never met Houdini due to the escaping issues.

    • Orla January 27, 2011, 10:24 am

Ha!!! I just snort laughed at this! Poor Houdini!

  • Blog is the New Black January 27, 2011, 10:15 am

HAha, love that your dogs have middle names!

  • Maria January 27, 2011, 10:17 am

Oh my. I laughed out loud at my desk reading Maggie’s full name. A true Iron Lady, she is. 😉

  • Nicole (I have trouble with forward motion) January 27, 2011, 10:17 am

LOL, that’s too funny! My husband named our cats: Arwen (from Lord of the Rings) and Ben (Benjamin Franklin).

Now I wish I could rewind breakfast so I could have that sandwich. Maybe tomorrow if I can remember!

    • Amy January 27, 2011, 11:18 am

      Those are cute cat names!

  • Kayla January 27, 2011, 10:18 am

You kids crack me up. I love that Maggie was named after the prime minister.

  • Beth @ 990 Square January 27, 2011, 10:18 am

Those names are awesome! Is it sad that I already have my kids names picked out but I don’t know when/if we’ll have kids. My husband and I decided on them ages ago.

  • Nicole January 27, 2011, 10:19 am

Ha, I love their names! I had to bring my bunny to the vet a few months ago and I definitely got a few stares when I had to check in Astrid Von Periwinkle.

    • Kristie January 27, 2011, 10:56 am

      I love that!!!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:16 pm

  • MaryBe@AccidentallyVegan January 27, 2011, 10:20 am

I thought their middle names would be Belle and Edward

  • kalin January 27, 2011, 10:23 am

One of our kitties is named Takeout. Whenever we take her places people have to ask a million times if it’s really her name.
(She has a food dish that looks like a Chinese takeout box too!)

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:16 pm

      Takeout is a great name!!!

  • Jessica @ Dairy Free Betty January 27, 2011, 10:23 am

  • Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday January 27, 2011, 10:26 am

Did your dogs not have names already when you adopted them?

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 10:29 am

      They did!

      Maggie was Tinkberbell

      And James was Oscar.

Both not good names for them.

      • Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday January 27, 2011, 10:31 am

Was it difficult to get them to adapt to the new names?

Maggie does not look like a Tink, but I kinda like Oscar, actually.

        • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 10:31 am

Naw dogs respond to anything in a sing-song voice 🙂

  • Kristen @ That Hoosier Girl January 27, 2011, 10:26 am

hahaha I love that you made sure to note it was pre-breakdown days. That’s awesome!

  • Amanda (Eating Up) January 27, 2011, 10:27 am

Your speaking trips sound so fun! My cat’s name was Dusty Jake the Outlaw. No one knows why the Outlaw was added.

Our dog’s full name is April Paige Turner. Tee hee!!

Where are you going in Cincinnati? That’s my hometown! Hope you have fun! Be sure to get some Graeter’s Ice Cream. If you like Black Raspberry Chip, I’d highly recommend it. If not, any chip flavor will do.

    • Ali January 27, 2011, 11:27 am

I live in Louisville, KY and I agree, Graeter’s Ice Cream is ah-mazing!

    • lynne January 27, 2011, 2:08 pm

Agreed – where in Cincinnati will you be? I’m from Cincy and have a tween sister still living there and I’d love to pass on any presentation information to my mom, if it’s open attendance!

      Definitely eat Graeters.

      • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:17 pm

It’s a private event for a church, unfortunately!

I will have to check out Graeter’s if I have time!!

        • Rebecca January 27, 2011, 10:57 pm

I didn’t realize you did church events, too!! OMG, I should totally get my church to invite you! Or one of the other churches/colleges/high schools in the area. If you’d be willing to come to rural-ish MN, that is. Hahaha. 🙂 Or we could get you to the MOA or something nearby… 🙂

        • Caitlin January 28, 2011, 6:57 am

Rebecca – I go anywhere and everywhere!

  • Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat January 27, 2011, 10:40 am

That does sound like fun! A little hectic, but I’m not going to lie, some days I wish I did what you do for a living Caitlin! Have a great day and good luck prepping!

  • Kate (What Kate is Cooking) January 27, 2011, 10:41 am

My bird’s middle name is ‘Belmondo’, after Jean-Paul Belmondo 🙂

  • Katy (The Singing Runner) January 27, 2011, 10:49 am

I really need to talk to the campus activities director here to see if they would be interested in bringing you to my university. 😀 Hey, a girl can dream right?

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:17 pm

Do it! I would love to come!

  • Camille January 27, 2011, 10:51 am

Those are amazing names! My cat’s name is Harley Quinn, after the Batman villain 🙂

  • kelly January 27, 2011, 10:52 am

haha, too funny! My dog’s full name is Sir Gibson the Pumpkin Eater 🙂 We were going to add “of Wales” at the end, but thought that’d be a big much 😉

  • VeggieGirl January 27, 2011, 10:53 am

Aww cute!! My first dog (Kiwi – remember her?) was named Kiwi Marie, and Chooey is Chooey Elise 😀

  • Jen January 27, 2011, 10:57 am

Creative names! My dog is simply Heidi, although I often call her Heidi-Ho.

  • Amanda January 27, 2011, 10:58 am

Haha! I’ve never thought to give an animal a middle name. My dog never even got a name…Puppy just stuck for him so we never changed it 🙂

  • Jess January 27, 2011, 11:00 am

our bird’s name is sam cooke, glad to know we’re not the only ones who partake in this type of naming:)

  • Laura January 27, 2011, 11:11 am

A friend of mine just rescued a new dog and named her La Fonda! We have a Mexican restaurant here (Atlanta) called La Fonda and she and her husband would have lunch there after volunteering at the animal shelter where they got the dog. She said he husband is always so embarrassed when they go to the dog park, because they have to yell (in front of lots of people), “Come here La Fonda!” hahaha

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:18 pm

Hahah La Fonda is pretty good. Does she call her Fonda for short?

  • Jess@atasteofconfidence January 27, 2011, 11:13 am

    haha that is so funny

  • Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg January 27, 2011, 11:17 am

Lol…our dogs have middle names too– that’s part of the fun of naming a dog, right? Our cattledog is Eloise Cattledog Lowe (we were feeling really original with that one), and our little terrier is Baxter P. Weber (the P sometimes stands for Patrick (my husband’s middle name), and sometimes stands for Pee and Poop). Ahhhh, dogs.

  • andrea @ a cake for a wife. January 27, 2011, 11:20 am

Hahaha, so cute! My cat’s name is Zack Morris, that always gets a chuckle at the vet. 🙂

  • Sarah (Sarah Learns) January 27, 2011, 11:21 am

i feel so boring – my dog just has a first name (capone) and we call him capone zinkel (my fiance’s last name) at the vet. now i want to give him a cool middle name!

  • Nadine January 27, 2011, 11:27 am

Our boy doxie is Flasher Von Dasher, but he goes by Flash or most likely Stinky. Our other doxie, and love interest of Stinky, is named Emma but goes by Poopy. Why poop outside when it’s so convenient to go inside? We finally broke her of the habit, but the name stuck.

Nothing like going for a walk with Stinky and Poopy.

  • Laurie January 27, 2011, 11:27 am

I remember Maggie’s and James’s middle names from some of your previous posts! I love those names! So cute! I named my dachshund ‘Pepperjack O’reiley’, we call him Pepper for short. People laugh at that name, but I thought is was cute in a unique way! But thats his name on his papers :), kind of lame…but he seems to like his name!

  • Ali January 27, 2011, 11:30 am

We have a chihuahua named Ava Marie but we just call her Ava (unless she is in trouble). Our friends have two dogs one named Kip and one named Rico, both named after Napoleon Dynamite characters.

  • Lu January 27, 2011, 11:34 am

Hilarious! I love those names. I named my Pug Lola Bola La Pug (because to me she looked like a ball “bola”). Good luck with your talk.

  • Kara January 27, 2011, 11:39 am

My dog was Trixie when I adopted her and I refused to keep (it sounds like a stripper name to me) Peanut is a much more refined and lady-like name for a dog 🙂

I used to have a show quality Doberman and his real name was nuts (I don’t even remember all of it because it had to have his father’s name and bunch of other stuff), but we just called him Max.

It’s better to take out your desire for crazy names on your pet so you don’t give your kids crazy names like “Essence” or “Ikea” or “La-a” (pronounced Ladasha). You think I’m making those up? I had all of those names in my class that I taught at the local college. 🙂

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:18 pm

Omg I am naming my kid IKEA.

  • Alison @ Around the VeggieTable January 27, 2011, 11:43 am

hehe I love it. My kitties don’t have full names, just Tootsie and Roo, but we also have a g-pig whose official name is Sir Carl D’Lapsitter McSqueaky Pants. We usually just call him Carl. Or Carlos.

  • Natalia - a side of simple January 27, 2011, 11:48 am

I’m so excited you’re giving a non-college presentation! It will be really interesting to see the response and the community for it. Have a safe trip! Looks like you’re dodging the bad weather 🙂

  • Ashley January 27, 2011, 11:49 am

haha – those names are too funny (and middle names, too!)
    My dog’s full name is:
    Rocky Cotton-Balls Killa King-Jordan

Rocky is the name my hubs & I gave him,
Cotton-balls bc when he was a pups his “man parts” looked like little cotton balls (before we got him neutered)
Killa is the name he had been given by the kid whose dog gave birth to him (my little sister’s boyfriend at the time owned Rocky’s Mom & originally named Rocky Killa)
King was my last name at the time we got Rocky
    Jordan was my hubb’s

So there you have it : )

  • Susan January 27, 2011, 11:53 am

I have a cat named Jody. My last name is Foster. So – Jody Foster. Shelter named her before I got her, and by the time I realized it (I can be slow sometimes), it was her name, no changing it. Nothing against Jody Foster, but she’s not the first celebrity I would name my cat after.

I also have a cat named Sunshine. Mostly because at the time I was using that word very sarcastically.

Of course, both cats are referenced as “Miss” – so “Miss Jody” and “Miss Sunshine”.

  • Kacy January 27, 2011, 11:54 am

Those names are epic. I love it.

  • Carpensm @ A Life Without Ice Cream January 27, 2011, 11:55 am

Love the names! I’ve always wanted to name a male cat or dog Truman… as in Harry S. 🙂

  • Amber K January 27, 2011, 11:57 am

I can’t wait to hear their middle names. All of my dogs had multiple names when I was a kid, although their last name was always the same as mine. 😉

  • Emily G. January 27, 2011, 11:59 am

Ok..I feel like an uncaring fur-mommy! lol I didn’t put much thought in my dog’s name, Little Man! lol Some of these names are PRECIOUS!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:19 pm

      I call James Little Man!

  • Mary (What's Cookin' with Mary) January 27, 2011, 12:07 pm

I love when Maggie lays with her legs hidden !!! She’s a little burrito with a head and ears ;D

  • Leah @ Why Deprive? January 27, 2011, 12:10 pm

haha love those names!! My dog doesnt have a middle name, or at least I dont think she does. Shes a rescue so I didnt name her.

Your kids are obviously going to have some awesome names! 🙂

  • Marnie January 27, 2011, 12:10 pm

Our basset hound’s name is Louie George Michael!

  • Kate January 27, 2011, 12:15 pm

i’m going with Margaret “Sweetlips” Thatcher. and James “Shaken-not-Stirred” Bond.

My cat’s name when we got her was Double Stuff… but I didn’t like that is was a comment on her weight, so I changed it to Ella.

Her full names is Ella Gater Cooke.

  • Ashley January 27, 2011, 12:18 pm

That’s so funny, I’m sure your children will have very colorful names 🙂 I’m sure your breakfast is fantastic, but sadly i hate bananas

  • Teacherwoman January 27, 2011, 12:18 pm

I love their names! Too cute!

  • Holly January 27, 2011, 12:26 pm

One of our dogs has middles names. I say names, because she has more than one. Her middles names are the names of the other dogs we had growing up. Her full name is Cleopuptra Frisky Cocoa Jupiter (insert our last name here). But, she simply goes by Cleo. 🙂

  • Kaci January 27, 2011, 12:26 pm

I love the names!!! I want my dog now to have a cool name. Dang it! =) Love that your dad’s reply.

  • Kelly January 27, 2011, 12:31 pm

I never could think of a middle name for Rascal so now he’s just Rascal Pasour Davis (maiden name + married name), since technically he was mine before I met Brad. Brad always wanted to name him Rascal Lee…like rascally. 🙂 I love Maggie and James.

  • Lauren January 27, 2011, 12:35 pm

Haha TOOO FUNNY!!! I love how you name your dogs after famous people. I think my next pets, I’m going to start naming them after my favorite foods. “Tofu, Kiwi, Hummus.” LoL, it has a ring to it! 😉

  • Rachel @ No Need For Speed January 27, 2011, 12:40 pm

Hi Caitlin, do you have a schedule somewhere of your Operation Beautiful trips? It would be nice to know if you’re going to be in the area in the future! (Louisville, KY)

  • C. January 27, 2011, 12:41 pm

YES! I love it! I love animals with middle names!!

My dog was ‘Dank’ when we got him– now he is Sailor Jerry Tupac Shakur jagermeister Steward Phelps.

And my cat was ‘Fat Pussy’ (she’s a full bodied kitty)– now she is Martini Phelps. No middle name.

  • Tracy January 27, 2011, 12:42 pm

I have Murphy Brown (chocolate lab) and Tater Chip (cat). Tater is sometimes referred to as Sweet Tater, Sweet T, Tater Tot or Potato depending on my mood!

  • Melissa @ Be Not Simply Good January 27, 2011, 12:42 pm

Oh, now that’s even funnier! I wondered how Margaret Thatcher would feel about having a dog named after her, but now I wonder how she feels sharing the name with Britney Spears!!! LOL

Whenever we renamed an animal, we tried to think of something that sounded sort of similar. I guess they might not care at all. ? Hmm.

  • Caitlin @ The Caitie Experiment January 27, 2011, 12:50 pm

I LOVE their names! My parents have a tendency to name their pets ridiculous names:

    – Peabo Omelet-Waffle [Last Name] (They thought it would be hilarious, since she was an AKC-certified Golden, to have that on the lineage chart with all the “official” names. Then again, her mother was named Diogee, so they weren’t the only ones with a sense of humor (Say it phonetically)!).
    – Dieter von Wienerwickerland [Last Name] (He’s a Bernese that they literally imported from Germany — he has his own passport and everything!)
    – Gertrude “Gertie” Steinbeck [Last Name] (Dieter needed a fellow German friend, so the black lab got blessed with Gertrude.)

Then again, I guess BF and I aren’t much better… we’re planning on naming our pound puppy “Trot DirtDog Nixon” and then hyphenate his last name… after the Red Sox 2004 right fielder, of course 😉

    • Cindy January 27, 2011, 2:03 pm

      Yes to Trot!

On of my friends actually named his son Trot- after the Dirt Dog himself!

      • Caitlin @ The Caitie Experiment January 27, 2011, 3:47 pm

That’s AWESOME! And, secretly, that was my original plan all along, but I got a big “no way” from BF. He also objected to “Manny Millar” and “Damon Arroyo” (go figure… for a dude who basically lives at Fenway, you’d think he’d be more supportive!). Perhaps I can lobby for the middle name… it worked for James and Maggie! 😉

  • Michelle January 27, 2011, 12:55 pm

Haha – my dog’s name is Gertrude, too! She doesn’t have a middle name, but all kinds of nicknames: Gertie, Gert-dawg, Gertilicious, G-money, G-dawg, Geeertruuuude (said in a sing-songy British voice, of course), Gert-diggity.

Caitlin – I’m from Cincinnati, and I would also recommend that you stop in Graeter’s for some ice cream if you have the chance. The black rasberry chip is the flavor they’re known for, but I always go with the double chocolate chip since I’m a chocolate freak.

Feel free to email me if you need any more suggestions for places to eat!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:21 pm

Thanks Michelle! I guess I have to go to Graeters since everyone is talking about it!

  • Allison @ Happy Tales January 27, 2011, 12:56 pm

Wahhhhhhhh Cincinnati is my hometown!!!!!!!!!! Born and raised there for 18 years (and it’s where I’ll be running my first marathon come May 1st!!) I’m so jealous that you’re going there! Let me know if you need any tips on where to eat/see. (ie. Greaters Icecream is a must!!!!) But I see you said it’s an “in and out” trip.. so maybe that means you’ll be back by nighttime? Anywho, HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!

i realllllllly wish you were coming to CLEVELAND rather than Cinci so I could take you out to dinner!

Anyways i love your dog names. I would like to name my dog Morty when my husband finally allows me to get a dog 🙂

  • Jennifer (Mother of All Students) January 27, 2011, 1:07 pm

I have two pugs, but there names aren’t very creative. My boy pug is Biscuit because he’s big, fat and golden brown. My girl’s name is Duffy, but we have given her the middle name of Anne-Marie. That way her initlas spell DAM for when she is in trouble (she is VERY mischievious!) – DAM dog! ha!

  • claire! January 27, 2011, 1:15 pm

my cat’s name is Hercules Toonses Peters, dog’s is Joseph Potato Peters!

  • Brie @ Brie Fit January 27, 2011, 1:16 pm

Our next pets will be named Ramona Quimby if it’s a girl or Stringer Bell if it’s a boy. We almost named our beagle Duquan Weems. (My husband is a huge fan of The Wire.)

  • Kiran January 27, 2011, 1:19 pm

Haha!!! I had a great laugh today, thanks to your dog names 😉 and your grilled banana sandwich is perfect in any season.

  • faith January 27, 2011, 1:23 pm

I am totally missing out on the grilled banana sandwich, I need to get on board but I never remember at the right time!

  • Sarah January 27, 2011, 1:30 pm

My first dog’s name was Kerry Herschel Walker Hound Lastname. She was a walker hound…Herschel Walker played football. Then we had Lady Edwina Lastname. Not Lady Edwina in a fancy way, just plain Lady, middle name Edwina. As for cats, I have Dusty Lou Harriongton and Bibby Marie Baumgarten (sisters). I also have Peaches. They called him Baxley at the shelter….odd name

  • Beth January 27, 2011, 1:31 pm

My beagle’s name is Darby Guacamole Jackson.

  • Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table January 27, 2011, 1:36 pm

No joke about the deliciousness of the banana-french-toast.

Short cut: I was so lazy yesterday I just popped my bread in the toaster oven, the banana went in the microwaves, and it all came together with the PB in under a minute!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:22 pm

Oh man… AWESOME short cut for GBS

  • Annette January 27, 2011, 1:44 pm

I wish I loved bananas…..I would totally make that sandwich! Any other ideas for the main event in that sandwich for a non-banana eater? 🙂

    • JavaChick January 27, 2011, 1:51 pm

I feel the same way – wish I liked bananas but I just don’t.

I did have a french toast sandwich stuffed with strawberries & cream cheese at a restaurant once – that was pretty good.

  • Haleigh January 27, 2011, 1:48 pm

I have yet to try a grilled banana sandwich! Every time I see you post about it, I think to myself “Hey! I need to make that tomorrow for breakfast!” Then by the time I get around to making breakfast, I forget about it. I need to write myself a note on the fridge or something. It looks delicious though!

  • Jo @ Jo's Diet Journey January 27, 2011, 1:55 pm

Those names are awesome! They crack me up 🙂 My puppy’s name is plain old Molly… but i love her anyway 🙂

  • amy January 27, 2011, 2:00 pm

Where are you speaking in cincinnati? This is where I live and work!!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:22 pm

at a church – it’s a private event! i wish we could meet!

  • Mary @ Bites and Bliss January 27, 2011, 2:24 pm

Grilled bananas are amazinngg! And pet’s full names crack me up- especially horse names. Whether they come from their bloog line or just out of nowhere, they’re usually really interesting.

  • Alex @ Healing Beauty January 27, 2011, 2:37 pm

    Those are adorable names!

  • Jaclyn January 27, 2011, 2:50 pm

Every time you post this, I always think the same thing, “I wish I had more time to make this delicious bfast…” But alas, I do not.. saving it for a weekend I am home with time and adequate kitchen space! Looks great!

Sounds like a cool speaking gig tomorrow!

  • Gina G January 27, 2011, 3:23 pm

Caitlin I wish you could come to michigan to speak at my university (Grand Valley State)!

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:23 pm

Talk to your student activities director! I will come!

  • Gill (snaxandthecity) January 27, 2011, 3:33 pm

    LOVE THE GBS! seriously.
and lol at the dogs’ names!!

  • Rachel @ Suburban Yogini January 27, 2011, 3:40 pm

My cats are called Aurora and Johnny Park – after Foo Fighters’ songs.

    But wait….

Aurora’s full name is Aurora California after the Chili Peppers’ song Dani California.

    Yeah, I know :/

And I think James is Roger Moore for sure!

  • Jennifer (Mother of All Students) January 27, 2011, 3:55 pm

If I had to do it all over again, I would name my male and female dogs Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet (and call her Izzy for short)! 🙂

  • Lili January 27, 2011, 4:02 pm

    James totally resembles James bond!
And yes, I love the grilled banana sandwich! I make it every now and then!

  • Mum January 27, 2011, 4:09 pm

I like the pictures of Mrs Thatcher and James Bond next to the the pups. She was my all time favorite British leader also known as the iron lady and of course Shawn Connery was the best bond.
    Love Mum

  • Julie January 27, 2011, 4:37 pm

Hey, it’s bootcamp Julie again! I should start a blog documenting the challenge. 😛

You’d love my sister’s cats name… it’s Benjamin Frankenstein Botts Wilson (her fiance’s last name is Wilson). Benny is what normal people call him… she’s a weirdo like you!

As for bootcamp, the class last night was brutal, but I survived. As for the daycare, it didn’t go so well. I walked in and my son was crying at the door and the daycare lady was ignoring him. I was so angry I was seeing red! I have decided next week to leave him home with a teenager who is a daughter of a friend of ours… costing me more money but at least I know he won’t be standing crying hysterically with someone ignoring him. Can you believe that??? I’m still waiting to hear back from the gym manager about my complaint…

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 5:23 pm

UGH you should definitely complain!! i would’ve been mad too.

good for getting through bootcamp! go julie!

  • Lori January 27, 2011, 5:15 pm

Those names are awesome! I grew up in a family in which all pets must have middle names, so needless to say naming my dogs Georgia Sue and Edward Charles was a no brainer…my sister’s cat’s name takes the cake though. Turbodog Chickenlegs. He’s named after Abita Turbodog beer, and had long skinny legs as a kitten 😀 The vet tech laughed out loud when my sister called to make his first vet appt-she thought my sis was kidding!

  • Clare January 27, 2011, 6:19 pm

Ah, I love Billy Elliot, my favourite song has to be ‘Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher’ (Yep, not a Thatcher fan, but yours is very cute!)

  • Jen January 27, 2011, 6:50 pm

I like to joke that I’m going to name my children after the seven deadly sins instead of the cardinal virtues. First born will be Avarice.

  • Caroline January 27, 2011, 7:30 pm

I’m on board with pop culture pet names, then again my dog is named Captain Jack Sparrow! Isn’t it interesting how pet names can match up with their personalities? Mine is quite the alpha male being the 1st in a litter of 10 and he is SUCH a pirate.

    • Caitlin January 27, 2011, 7:31 pm

Aw so cute. I like that pup name!

  • Sally January 27, 2011, 7:48 pm

My Maggie’s full name is Sugar Magnolia Tuxedo. My two boys don’t have elaborate names, just Murphy and Max. I didn’t want to emasculate them 😉

  • Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin January 27, 2011, 8:48 pm

I’m starting to get scared that you’re going to name your future children “Lady Gaga” and “Justin Bieber”. 😛

  • Carol January 27, 2011, 9:05 pm

My fur-children are Giorgio Armani and Coco Chanel. And they are both Tuxedo kitties, so they deserve their model names! And they are gorgeous, of course!
    🙂

  • Kathleen @ Kat's Health Corner January 27, 2011, 9:43 pm

No way!!!! That’s really their middle names?!?! Wow. 🙂

  • Sara @ OurDogBuffy January 27, 2011, 11:01 pm

Good to know we’re not the only ones to give their cats and dogs middle names. George Catstanza and Zelda Apple are my favorites we came up with 🙂 Random.

  • Toronto Girl West January 28, 2011, 1:39 am

    LOL Hilarious names! 😛

My little Daisy has a middle name too – she’s officially “Daisy Cakes!” 🙂

Most people try to call her Daisy Mae but frankly that sounds entirely too redneck for my puppy. Even if she did come from an accidental litter on the wrong side of the tracks (literally) in a small Rocky Mountain town!

  • Tracy January 28, 2011, 7:16 am

Pretty cool that you give your dogs middle names. I could imagine the call to the vet.

Hope you have a great trip to Cincy (just down the street from me)!

  • Lexie January 28, 2011, 9:15 am

My last name is Bond and my chinchilla’s name is Margaret Thatcher. You’re freaking me out! I think my next pet will be Philip Seymour Hoffman…

    • Caitlin January 28, 2011, 11:08 am

ohmigod! ANDDDDDDDD we both went to pitt!

  • Nicole January 28, 2011, 12:32 pm

My mean husband wouldnt let me put something fun for my dogs middle name but I always call her Elle Woods Wagner!

  • Liz January 29, 2011, 4:29 pm

Our dog is a beagle-mix named Hank Williams (Sr., of course)!

  • marsha February 1, 2011, 9:19 pm

Love it!! Our catten (not quite a cat but older than a kitten 😉 ) is Madelyn Grace (for her lack thereof) and Maddie for short. Rocky was given his name by his previous humans but we prefer to call him Rocket or Beef. We’re now trying to think up a middle name for him so it’s even. He’s a diva so we may go with something more feminine… 😀
