I feel like I went all over Charlotte today (but I stayed in a 5-mile radius). Charlotte is small but lovely!
First things first. A haircut! Jessie recommended I try out Salon 42.
I forgot to take a picture before tossing my hair into a ponytail for a run, but I like it! And if you’re in Charlotte and check it out, ask for Jason and he’ll give you the sweet Healthy Tipping Point discount. :)
Oh, on the way there, I inhaled Greek yogurt + 1/2 cup oatmeal. Yes, I ate it in the car at stop lights. 🙂
Post-run, I stopped into Charlotte’s official running store, Run for Your Life. Now, you guys KNOW how much I loved Orlando’s Track Shack, and I have to say that RFYL lived up to my expectations. As long as they offer as great as a return policy on shoes as Track Shack, I’m sold.
I was there to pick up my packet for Saturday’s 4.0-mile race and check out the sweet sales rack. I need to stock up on cold-weather running gear!
I was feeling so inspired after shopping around (and buying the latest Runner’s World), that I decided to go for a quick run. I wrapped up 2.6 miles in 24:00 minutes, keeping it short to ensure I have relatively fresh legs for the race.
PLUSSS – I was meeting Brittney for a doggie stroll.
Look at her cute little wiener dog!!! I loved him! He was so much tinier than Maggie!
Speaking of Maggie, she doesn’t “do†walks so I just brought my little man James along. Brittney, Clyde, James, and I walked for about 45 minutes.
More in-car dining ensued! This time, it was an almond butter and jam sandwich.
And, in an attempt to squeeze in veggies, I had a Green Monster, which contained 2 cups raw spinach, 1 cup almond milk, and 2 scoops of Vega Shake N Go.
I’m OFF! I’m really pumped to flip through Runner’s World and enjoy some down-time with the Husband and the TV.
Oddly enough, that still really makes me want a Hoegaarden…
So I’m just a beginning runner and I have been too intimidated to check out my local running shop. Should I suck it up and check it out?
