Good morning! So far, I’ve spent my stay-cation the best way I know how: by getting in a GREAT workout!
I woke up at 6:30 to do a radio interview for Operation Beautiful, which was really fun. After the interview was over, I promptly passed back out and woke up around 8:20.
The Husband and I woke up slowly while watching today’s stage of the Tour de France. Have you been following it? We are pretty obsessed and watch a little bit of it almost everyday. I snacked on toast with Brazil Nut Butter (homemade) while we watched the guys crash! Yikes.
And then I got ready for a bike ride! How come the professional riders look so cool and I just look like a dork? 😉
I think it’s the pigtails.
We did a short ride — the Husband had to go to work — but we managed to do about 6 miles in 25 minutes.
I came home and promptly changed into running clothes. I suspected it was going to be too hot out for a long run, and I was right — it was about 90 degrees and scorching hot! I managed to bang out 2.0 miles before I gave up.
- Duration: 18 minutes
- Distance: 2.0 miles
And… then I did strength moves (can you tell I was super excited to have some free time!?):
- 30 push-ups
- 100 bicycle crunches
- PT knee moves
- 20 reverse crunches
- 30 chest flys with 3 pound weights
Post-workout brunch:
I had two whole wheat waffles with Oikos Greek yogurt, coconut, flax, and blueberries.
To die for!
Do you like to work out on vacation (or stay-cations) or do you prefer to just lay around and relax?
I love having the luxury to work out at my own pace! I'm totally with you. Taking the time to stretch afterwards feels like zen whereas during the week I'm wondering how little stretching I can get away with.
You've got the workout in + brunch = best stay-cation combo.
