One year ago, on this very day,
I opened my laptop and started to blog away.
I blogged about running and staying fit,
And then I married a lovely Brit.
We went to California and drank lots of wine.
Even on my honeymoon, I blogged the whole time.
I wrote about each and every run.
Even when my knees hurt, I still had fun.
I bounced back from injury, and then I could see.
What it meant to be healthy and happy and just be.
I learned to live in the moment and appreciate each mile.
Every finish line I crossed brought a smile.
It wasn’t all about fitness; it was much more, indeed.
It was about being balanced and eating what I need.
I ate lots of oatmeal, granola, and sweet potatoes.
I chopped up salads with fresh tomatoes.
I ate dinners with my Husband and some meals in the car.
I snacked on fries and drank beer at bowling alley bars.
Along the way, a surprising trend:
Through the blog, I made a really, really good friend!
Others soon followed, and before I knew it.
New friendships formed and we planned a Summit!
What adventures lie ahead, I can only dream.
Maybe I’ll complete that marathon — it would be extreme!
No matter what, I have YOU to thank.
Blogging changed my life, let’s be frank.
I know my poetry is really bad.
I’ll go back to narrative writing soon; don’t be mad!
I just wanted to say in a fun and silly way:
Happy Birthday HTP! You are one year old today!
So fun! Great post π Congrats on turning 1 year-old today!! And may there be MANY more:)
