Keep those bids coming for the Healthy Living Summit Golden Ticket silent auction!  We’re up to $75 for the ticket, which I think is a pretty good deal considering the insane awesomeness you’ll get to experience.  :)  For more information on how to bid, check out the Bid Rules.  Bidding ends at 10:30 PM!

And all proceeds benefit my Team in Training efforts to help find the cure for blood cancers.  Speaking of which, THANK YOU to the lovely Katie Drummond for her overnight donation!

Onto the eats….

For my mid-morning, I tried a top-secret new Fruition bar from ProBar:

CIMG6926

ProBar sent me a sample of the new Fruition bars to taste test.  These bars aren’t available in stores yet and don’t even have official labels!

CIMG6927

Get excited to see these babies in stores in mid-August, because they were FREAKING AWESOME.  I’m not too crazy about Larabars because I think they are kind of blah tasting, but these Fruition bars had a lot of spunk and flavor.  They were packed with chia seeds, cashews, and blueberries (plus other mystery vegan and none-GMO ingredients that I don’t know about because there is  no label yet!).  Again, I really enjoyed this bar and would definitely purchase it!

Lunch was kind of strange:

CIMG6932

I broiled two whole wheat wraps (about 80 calories each) in the oven to try and "crisp" them up like potato chips, but they ended up being fluffy and chewy.

CIMG6933

I dipped the "chips" into Sabra hummus.  I also had a side salad and grapes:

Although it was a strange lunch, it was a good one because it took a while to consume — thus leaving me more satisfied.

My weiners have been fighting all morning:

Bikini Confidence

Did you see Meghann’s great post on BIKINI CONFIDENCE?

I love how she rocked out that bikini in all of her cruise photographs.  Bikini Confidence is SELF CONFIDENCE!

Love the skin you’re in, ladies (and gents)!

Just wanted to wish you tons of luck with your auction today!

On an unrelated note, in your opinion which variety of Amazing Grass is best? I'm interested in trying, but just don't know where to start. Thanks and have an AWESOME day 🙂

  • sloank July 8, 2009, 9:28 am

  • Nate July 8, 2009, 9:40 am

I'm just glad that James finally got some HTP photo love. And Maggie clearly has bikini confidence.

  • just me July 8, 2009, 10:05 am

i love'd meghann's bikini shots too…you guys have definitely helped as even i was confident enough to post mine in my fl keys reviews! yay!

  • Christy July 8, 2009, 10:10 am

What if you cut up the tortillas before you broiled them? Since the air could escape they probably wouldn't puff up so much. Just a suggestion! 🙂

  • Stacey July 8, 2009, 10:10 am

Your lunch looks yummy! And good reminder about loving the skin your in, when I go to the pool and see ladies holding their stomachs or trying to cover up, I just wanna yell "You look awesome, so STOP IT!!"

  • Courtney July 8, 2009, 10:11 am

I hope to see some of those new bars in store soon – happy to hear you like them! 😀 That's the shizz right there, like top secret taste testing!

Meghann does have a banging bod. I was pretty impressed with her logic – I mean, WHAT models have run a marathon?!

  • elliebelle July 8, 2009, 10:13 am

I'm so glad there is someone out there like me who doesn't love LaraBars. I thought I was the only one! I'll be excited to try those Fruition bars though.

  • leslie July 8, 2009, 10:29 am

  • brandi July 8, 2009, 10:36 am

    that blueberry bar looks great!

your wraps look like naan! 🙂 i like lunches that take a while like that.

  • Allyson July 8, 2009, 10:42 am

I love weirdo lunches! When something doesn't end up like you were picturing it, or when you just throw a bunch of stuff together that doesn't usually go together.

You get to eat whatever you want when you are an adult! …like wraps, and veggies 🙂

  • MarathonVal July 8, 2009, 10:43 am

What a fun job you have, trying all these fun new foodie products and going on tv shows! 😉 You must be lovin it!

  • runnerskitchen July 8, 2009, 11:25 am

I'm actually eating a very similar lunch! Romaine lettuce with pita chips and hummus. Sounds a little odd, but it's delish 🙂

  • Mrs. Myers @ Eat Move Write July 8, 2009, 11:35 am

Hummus makes a good lunch every time.

Yes, I commented on Meghann's post too. She really rocked her 'kinis. I love it.

Hi Caitlin, I love your blog and read it almost every day. I think its great that you've gained enough of a fan base that companies are sending you products to test and is certainly a sign of your success…I just would be concerned that when you (or anyone whose opinions I trust) are receiving any kind of compensation from the companies it could result in biased reporting. And like I said, I find your suggestions really helpful. What are your thoughts on this?

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point July 8, 2009, 11:44 am

    melissa:

well, i operate under my own "code of ethics" for product testing.

    basically:

    1) I always state I'm reviewing something that was given to me.
    2) I always give my honest opinion.

if i say i like something, i actually like it. if i don't like something, you can usually tell — a good example would be when i reviewed the PETA Vegan Cookbook. I didn't think it was that great and I said so (diplomatically). you can trust my reviews!

also, i've never been paid to review anything, always i get stuff for free. i guess it's almost the same thing, but most companies encourage bloggers to give their real opinions.

  • lookingforserenity July 8, 2009, 11:46 am

aww, the same thing happens to me everytime I try to make 'chips' out of a tortilla, and those bars look divine!!! 🙂

  • seesaraheat July 8, 2009, 1:01 pm

Aww, those doggies are too cute! I've done tortillas in the oven before, but I sliced them into chip "shapes" first and then baked them for 15 minutes @ 350 degrees.

    I love puppy pictures!

I can't wait to see Fruition bars. They sure do sound good.

  • Jess July 8, 2009, 1:19 pm

I don't like Larabars much either. Excited about the better alternative. Hopefully it's cheaper too.

  • brit July 8, 2009, 1:54 pm

hey caitlin….this really doesn't pertain to this post, but i purchased an ecookbook from jenna and i am really excited to try your santa fe casserole later this week. do you have any ideas for sides that go well with it? or does anyone else have any thoughts?

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point July 8, 2009, 1:55 pm

brit – oh that casserole is sooo good! i usually have a side salad or broc with it. 🙂

  • Kath July 8, 2009, 1:59 pm

LOL – I took that same fruition photo today and I promise I just saw your post!

  • heyitstay July 8, 2009, 3:30 pm

  • roseyrebecca July 8, 2009, 8:42 pm

  • Jess July 9, 2009, 8:32 am

I love throwing my pitas and tortillas in the toaster oven to make them all puffy like that…so yum.
