in All Posts

Guess what? I remembered another job title:  I worked at Limited Too (the stores for little girls) as a sales rep.  I was 16!

Rest Day and Acupuncture

Today was my rest day and I am reallllly enjoying it!  I did some chores and relaxed.  I am going to write soon, too.

My left eye has been KILLING me.  I think its from staring at the computer all day long.  I asked the Husband to give me acupuncture for my eye, and he leapt at the chance.

I look funny when I’m relaxing. 🙂

The acupuncture really helped! My eye feel so much better.  It’s amazing.

Dinner

I invited the weirdo Wolfgang for dinner.  Hello, Wolfy!

I tried his Classic Minestrone — this was amazing minestrone.  The kidney beans were very flavorful and firm, and there were huge flakes of parsley.

With WW toast and pumpkin butter.  Yum!

Thanks for the interesting discussions in the comments today! Lunch and Breakfast created quite a stir. 🙂

Goodnight, time to write!

hello! i have been following your blog for about 3 months now and i love it! i am a college student so day to day i work on balancing working out with healthy eating. I was wondering if you had any suggestions… I find that about a week or so before my period I am ravenous! I consume way more food than I should, especially unhealthier things (chocolate, carbs..) than the norm (fruits, veggis, etc.) I am usually so regimented that it is hard for me to feel like i cannot control what goes into my mouth (or how much!) for a good week or so. thanks!

anon – hey! well, i think its ok to splurge a little because of your period — who doesnt! but if you *feel* out of control, thats not a good thing. i would just recommend giving in to your temptations in a thoughful manner. if you are craving pizza, have a slice or two but don’t follow it up with ice cream for the heck of it.

also, it helps me to chew gum — it keeps me from snacking. brushing your teeth works too. it also helps me to just get up and take the dogs on a walk or even do a lap around the apartment! 🙂

  • luckytastebuds February 3, 2009, 7:12 pm

  • elise February 3, 2009, 8:45 pm

how many days a week do you rest? ps that acupuncure pic is cute (and kinda funny). any recs for my neck/back pain?

  • rebecca February 3, 2009, 9:13 pm

i should give mr. puck’s soups another try… i tried a couple of them a while back and found them too salty/oily, but i do love a good minestrone, so i’ll have to try that one out.

  • Mica February 3, 2009, 9:30 pm

I’m glad to know that the acupuncture needles don’t really hurt. It always seems like such a weird treatment–sticking sharp things in someone to relieve pain. Good to know that it’s helpful!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 4, 2009, 5:26 am

lucktastebuds – no i dont make my own pumpkin butter – i bought a jar of pumpkin butter with port the other day – and its soooo good!

elise – i rest 1 – 2 days a week. but i try to be active on those days as well. i try not to run back to back more than two days in a row, thats the biggest “rest” issue for me. this kind of schedule doesnt work for everyone, though.

I’m so glad you took a rest day! Acupuncture is seriously the best… I go pretty often and it really helps my back!

I know I'm a couple posts late (I'm in Germany for work – there's a time difference!), but I had to tell you that I worked at Limited Too in high school too! Haha! I totally applied for the job b/c I thought I would get the discount at Limited, Express, Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret – wasn't old enough to actually work at those places, but they were part of the same company. Or so I thought…after I got hired, I found out Limited Too went independent! Oh well. I learned a lot of teeny bopper music and always returned home with glitter on my clothes. 🙂
