Hello! I am having a wonderful day. I took the dogs to the park, and they enjoyed it very much!
I actually saw James’ TWIN dog today, too! Look at this little girl — doesn’t she look like my James?
The owner said she’s a Feist, and I think once a reader asked me if James was a Feist, too! Maybe that’s his secret breed, after all!
After the dog park, I started to PACK! Now, the #1 Rule of Racing is to NEVER DO ANYTHING NEW ON RACE DAY. No new clothes, no new shoes, no new gels, no new food, NOTHING! Any change in your routine can spell trouble.
This means I’m packing a LOT of food….
From left to right:
- Two Clif bars
- Two servings of Clif Shot Bloks
- A bunch of nuts and raisins
- A packet of Anne’s Mac and Cheese
- A tupperware of PB
- Four slices of WW bread
- 1 scoop of Muscle Milk Light
- Coffee
- 2 Bananas
Here’s my race outfits (plus Maggie):
And some other race gear:
- Hat
- Moleskin (for blisters)
- Knee sleeves
- OTC pain killers
- The Power of Now (motivational reading)
I think I’ve covered all my bases! I’m so excited for a 5K, 15K, and a Half Marathon all in 1 weekend — plus, a weekend away with Meghann! Yay!
Lunch included leftovers from last night’s dinner:
I made 1 serving of wild rice plus two carrots, which I cooked with the rice for the last 10 minutes. I topped everything off with the Garlic Pepper Chicken from last night.
And my mid-afternoon snack was a mini pita with PB, a glass of milk, and some candy. 🙂
Gotta go pack the car! See you for dinner! 🙂
So I don’t forget – GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND! I know you and Meghann will do great! 🙂
LOL – thank goodness Maggie was there to supervise the packing 🙂 Lando wouldn’t have been laying so nicely though – she would have been following me around humping my leg the whole time… 😐
