Oh Monday

in All Posts

Just one of those nights…. I didn’t want to do anything.  No gym. No real cooking.  Just TV and couch action.

Best first…. I had to get through work.  Around 3 PM, I snacked on granola + yogurt.

Husband offered to make a traditional British meal… cheesy toast and baked beans.  I’m not a HUGE fan, but I did try a bite.

CIMG1289

Icky… I don’t like it!

I opted for 1/2 of Wolfgang Puck’s chicken and dumpling soup, a pickle, and a slice of cheesy bread with alfalfa.

Huz put baked beans on my plate, but I avoided them at all costs.

The cheesy bread with alfalfa was muy excellent!

And strawberries for dessert…

Alright… Big Love time.  I love this show!  Hail HBO!

Love the sprout action. There one of my favorite sandwich components but they always go bad in a couple of days on me. Do you have any secrets for keeping them fresh?

Aha, British food makes me giggle. “Beans on toast” “Toad in a hole” “Bubble and Squeak”

Ahh…the culinary insights from across the pond. Think of all the wonderful foods you’ll get to try over the years!

I just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration. I’ve always loved to run, but due to a bunch of factors I haven’t since summer. I’ve been so jealous reading your blog lately that I finally I just had to – I am so happy! Thank you for giving me the push to get back to something I love!

  • Leah January 27, 2009, 12:03 am

    Beans on toast!!
Since I live in England and have an English husband-to-be I have gotten used to having this combo about once a week! It’s our go to ‘cheap meal’ of the week hehe! When I first moved here 2.5 years ago I could never imagine eating it, but I don’t mind it now!!

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) January 27, 2009, 12:11 am

    Eww..your beans were touching your toast… =)

  • Thinspired January 27, 2009, 3:30 am

Mmm cheesy beans on toast! It was a foreign concept to me too until my hubby turned me on to it! We put beans on baked potatoes now, too πŸ™‚
Your sprout version looks nice too πŸ˜‰

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point January 27, 2009, 6:06 am

  • Megan January 27, 2009, 6:26 am

do pickles ever get old? i think not!

im all about trying new things, but I’m not sure how I’d like that bean/cheese/toast combo. the crazy things they do in other countries! (my mom is from italy and my dad is from france, so you can imagine the disastrous things i’ve had to try in my past…)

  • Guy de Maupassant January 27, 2009, 6:50 am

Get up, stand up: don’t give up the fight!!!
