Pictures Speak a 1,000 Words

Good – because I have no time to type.  Busy, busy, busy at work today!

The courthouse appointment went well.  We have our official marriage license and now we must wait for our officiant (Future Husband’s stepfather) to perform the marriage and sign it.  58 days and counting! 🙂

Cute moment:  Future Husband was disappointed we didn’t get "quizzed" for our marriage license (you  just fill out a form and pay).  I asked him what he wanted to get quizzed on, and he said, "I thought they’d at least ask me whether or not I loved you!"

Around 10, I had a pear.

And for lunch, I made a Baked Tofu and Asparagus Omelette, which was so, so, so good!

DSCN9992

My omelette contained:

  • 1/3 block extra firm tofu, pressed and rubbed in chili powder and pepper.  Baked for 35 at 375.
  • Tips of 8 asparagus, steamed
  • 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 egg whites

The way I get my omelettes to look so pretty is that I use two spatulas to fold it over. 🙂

And some leftover sweet potato fries (1/2 a medium sweet potato).

Back to the grind!! Have a fabulous afternoon.

Yay! It’s official! Now all someone has to do is pronounce you man and wife! (or however FH’s stepfather will word it)

    I love peppermint patties! 🙂

That omlette looks good! I’ve never thought of putting tofu in one before!

    1. Future Husband sounds like a sweetheart. 🙂

    2. I adore that bowl that your pear was in, SO beautiful!

    3. We had a similar lunch today! I also had an egg-white omelet, but mine had spinach and canadian bacon in it, with a sprinkle of mex. cheese. And frozen edamame on the side. Instead of York peppermint patties I went with the Dove dark chocolate squares. 🙂 🙂 Dark-chocoholic!

i love love, and i love peppermint patties too hahahaha

This might sound like a stupid question, but did both of you HAVE to go to the courthouse to get your license?

What I mean is, did you both have to sign something or could one of you just have gone to do it?

  • Caitlin (see bride run) November 6, 2008, 1:05 pm

leah – yes, both parties must attend so they can verify you are who you say you are. 🙂 you have to take an oath that you are submitting factual information.

  • therunningaddict November 6, 2008, 1:19 pm

Your potato fries look SO cute!

  • Leah November 6, 2008, 1:24 pm

Yes, definitely makes sense to make sure both parties are who they say they are and they are both willing to be married!

So, do you have to get the marriage license 60 days before you get married, or could you get it like a week before you get married??

The reason why I ask is because as we’ve talked about before, my future husband is from England and we are getting married in Canada. The next time he’ll be in Canada is probably 1- 1.5 weeks before we get hitched. I wonder if we can just go and get our license here in England?? Or does the license have to be from the country in which you are getting married in?

Oh boy, I think I need to do some research!

  • Caitlin (see bride run) November 6, 2008, 1:35 pm

leah – yes you definitely need to do research, because even if i tell you what the rules are in Florida, it won’t be the same as another state or country. in florida, you can get the license 60 days before your ceremony, but you have to wait 3 full days before it can be valid. so, we couldnt use our license until the 9th. i guess that’s suppose to prevent shotgun weddings? but, if you take a marriage course, you can apply for your license and instanteously get married.

  • Chic Runner November 6, 2008, 1:38 pm

Man, your omlettes do turn out really well! I’m jealous 🙂

    Congrats on the the liscence!

  • Leah November 6, 2008, 1:47 pm

Well, this has gotten me to thinking so I’ve been on the government of Ontario website and I’ve done some emailing. Here’s hoping I hear back! I know in Ontario your license is legal for 90 days (different from FL I notice), but I haven’t read anywhere about not being able to use it for a certain number of days after obtaining it.

So (last question I promise), when you and FH went in today did you apply for the license and get it on the spot? As in, you have it in your possession right now… then once your officiant marrys you and signs it then sends it away it is 100% official?

  • ModelBehavior November 6, 2008, 2:01 pm

How cute and exciting!!! Wow, I can’t wait till that day comes for me 😀

p.s. I’m reminding everyone to be thankful for what they have today, so take a moment to reflect on what you appreciate!!

  • Caitlin (see bride run) November 6, 2008, 2:28 pm

leah – yes, we have the unofficial certificate in our hands. it is unofficial because once you get married, the officiant signs it, and you mail it back to the clerk of courts, you get the official license in the mail.

i think they have a 3 day waiting period in florida because a lot of people come here on vacation and get married.

  • BOBBI McCORMICK November 6, 2008, 3:06 pm

mmm…never thought about putting tofu with eggs, going to try that soon. Your fb is so cute, with the quiz thing…you should have given him one..my hubby and I did this fun thing where we bought the books called Who Am I, and I filled mine out and he filled his out and then we switched, it was sooo fun to quiz eachother!

  • runningwithfood November 6, 2008, 4:48 pm

    Awww … he’s so adorable! 🙂

Awesome lunch … what a fabulous idea! I always think eggs for breakfast or dinner – why not lunch too?!

  • HangryPants November 6, 2008, 5:16 pm

    Marriage is so confusing!

I love that plate. Please tell me where you got it? I might actually buy it. 😀

Tofu in an omelette is so cool!

  • Elina November 7, 2008, 6:34 am

    That IS super cute!

They didn’t even check our IDs when we went to get our marriage license. I don’t know why they make you go there in person if they don’t even do that. Oh well, I love being married so it was worth the administrative hassle!! 😀
