Day 1 of vacay is off to a great start! After breakfast, I sat in the sun for 2 hours reading the new Oprah magazine.
James did some sun bathing, too.
I cooked Future Husband brunch and made myself a little snack around 12:00. I was (surprisingly) not very hungry for lunch. Guess my brandy oatmeal did the trick!
I had crackers + cheese and a few dates….
And a handful of pecans….
Then, we decided to go BIKE RIDING on my in-laws’ "Old People" (their words, not mine) bicycles. These bikes are a LOT different from my racing bike! :) The seats are basically like couch cushions!
No…. I’m not wearing a helmet. 🙁 I felt really bad for not wearing one, but the in-laws don’t have helmets (and I forgot mine at home). We mostly stuck to sidewalks and trails so I didn’t feel too unsafe. But we’re going to buy them helmets for Christmas.
We biked all through the development along the intracoastal waterway.
Then, we left the development and went over the causeway (probably the only moment my heart rate went above 100 BPM) to find the REALLY nice homes on the beach….
We snuck past security into a community called called "Hammock Dunes," which is filled with multi-million dollar mansions. I think Tiger Woods used to live there, and they host all sorts of golfing championships!
Future Husband and I played our FAVORITE GAME — "Purchase Our Dream Home!"
All of these homes are thee or four stories (with the basement), front the ocean, are at least 8,000 square feet, and feature large decks on the first and second floors. Here are the BACKS of each house…Which home do you want to buy?
Home #1
Home #2
Home #3
Home #4
Home #5
I liked Home #3 the most! 🙂 One day…. a girl can dream!
Then, we biked back over the causeway and allllll the way home! I think we biked more than 23 miles! But it was so fun and relaxing, and it was wonderful to spend time with Future Husband. Here are my statistics:
- Duration: 2 hours, 40 minutes (23+ miles)
- Average Heart Rate: 102 bpm
- Maximum Heart Rate: 166
- Calories Burned: 542
On the ride, I realized how nice it was to do low-intensity exercise. As a runner, I kind of feel like I have to be killing myself and sweating my butt off to get in a decent "workout." But this was so easy and fun! It didn’t seem like 2 hours and 40 minutes AT ALL!
By the time we got home (around 3:30), I was starrrrrrving. We made shrimp burritos with honey mustard dressing.
That’s a Flat Out wrap (they sell them at Coscto). It was very soft without being too delicate, and the wrap had no trans fat (score!).
We also made side salads with loads of veggies + more honey mustard dressing.
And I had a small portion of kettle chips on the side. I hardly ever eat chips, but when I do, I HAVE to portion out a serving or I just end up eating half the bag! 🙂
We dined on the patio. It was lovely….
And for dessert – two chocolate thins, courtesy of our "thank you" gift bag. 🙂
We may go see a movie, but we’ll probably eat dinner at home. See you later for a recap. I forsee loads of wine in my future. 🙂
I hope you have an excellent Friday night!
Those homes are AMAZING!
