Hello, everyone! What a FUN evening I’ve had — it was a great way to kick off my mini-holiday!
Alta Moda Salon hosted a Girls Night Out party, so Meghann and I went to get our hair done for *free*. It ended up turning into quite the girlie evening with tons of good food + drink! It was like a cocktail party in a hair salon — the place was bumpin’!
I started things off right with a mimosa. 🙂
My lovely hairdresser, Christine, did my second wedding hair trial. Last time, I did a half up-do, so this time I tried a real up-do. I didn’t really get a good picture of it, though!
I LOOOOOVE MY HAIR. It wasn’t a tight up-do at all; it was all soft and romantic with little braids. A fake flower completed the look (not sure about this for the wedding; we’ll see).
Meghann got her hair done as well. :) Here’s Meghann in progress….
AND we got lash extensions put on… for free! Alta Moda is amazing! The lash extensions last 3 days to a week!
After our beauty treatments, we hit up the catered food…. which was excellent! It was kind to fun to eat and drink in a salon.
I’ve never seen tiny cups of soup handed out as appetizers… very modern! They served me a delicious bowl of pumpkin creme soup.
And I had about six tiny toasts topped with chicken and bella mushrooms. Plus, some raw veggies for CRUNCH! It ended up being a substainable"dinner."
After the festivities at the salon, we walked to a nearby wine bar and split a flight of Spanish reds.
I have this thing with taking pictures of Meghann taking pictures. I think it’s hysterical for some reason. 🙂
After gossiping with my "twin" for about an hour, we parted ways.
Other Eats of the Day — Plus a Mini Run!
Before the madness at the salon, I managed to squeeze in a quick 2.0 mile run. Now, some people think "Oh, it’s only 20 minutes, it’s not worth it." But, I really have the mentality that SOMETHING is better than NOTHING. And a lot of it is just staying in the habit of (nearly) daily workouts, which I really value. Moving everyday makes me so happy!
I headed out the door right when I finished work and did a quick 2.0 mile loop. Here are my statistics (or what I can remember, my HRM is packed):
- Duration: 20 minutes (2 miles)
- Calories Burned: 170
Before my run, I had 1 cup skim milk + 1/2 scoop Muscle Milk Light.
Earlier, I had a slice of toast with Laughing Cow….
And some Yogurt + Grape Nuts (about 1/4 a cup). Yayyy, I missed you, yogurt!
HOLIDAY!
Well, I’ve got to leave now… time to drive to the coast. It’s about an hour and half, so hopefully I won’t get there TOO late! My vacation will be packing with hiking, running, laying by the pool, and relaxing. Stay tuned!
Enjoy your Friday!
You and Meghann always have the best time together, period.
Good night!!
