I had my first shift at the doggie kennel and it was so much fun! Basically, I got to walk dogs for and hour and a half, and then I fed everyone, gave them water, and put them all to bed. 🙂
AND best part of all — I got to walk FOUR DACHSHUNDS! They were all so sweet and cute. One bit my tennis shoe, but that was the only weird thing that happened. :) I love this job already!
Before work (around 4:00 PM), I went for a 4.0 mile run. My HRM is still broken, so I had no idea what my time was — but I’d guess it was 40 minutes, and I probably burned around 300 calories.
When I came back, I went to the grocery store for the SECOND time today (ahh it was crazy), and on the way back, I ate the butt of loaf of French bread…. while driving!
And then I came home and ate 1 cup of Grape Nuts and 1 cup of NF plain yogurt….. as a result, I didn’t really need to eat dinner. My snack was GINORMOUS!
Yes… tupperware. Too lazy to do the dishes! And a glass of OJ.
After my shift at the kennel (which ended at 10), I made a small cheese sammie with some grapes!
And now I need to go to bed! My day is going to be rammed. A nine miler might not happen tomorrow, but I want to at least get in a long run. 🙂
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Be safe on your travels!
That sounds like such a fun job for a dog-lover!
I remember volunteering at the Humane Society a few years ago…with no experience with animals, and let me tell you, it was a disaster! I let a few dogs loose by accident, lol.
Happy Turkey Day!
