I got the car munchies on the way here… first up, a Z-Bar (photo taken at a red light!). Chocolate Chip flavor is DELISH!
And then, a baggie of almonds after running a wedding-related errand at David’s Bridal (AKA craziest place on Earth).
After a three-and-a-half hour car ride (I also detoured to see Future Husband at his work), I finally arrived safe and sound in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida.
Aaaah it is gorgeous here, and the ocean breeze is so relaxing. I met up with my dad and we did some sightseeing!
I think a good portion of the race is adjacent to the ocean, so I’m pretty pumped for gorgeous sunrise views during my half marathon!
My dad and I went to an Italian place on the water for dinner. It wasn’t THAT great of a restaurant (in a touristy area), but it still did the job, nevertheless! Plus, always awesome to see the paps. 🙂
I had spinach manicotti, which was basically two manicotti drowned in a bucket of cheese.
After I ate the two tubes of pasta and about 75% of the filling, this is what I had left… a giant pile of ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Ewwww!
I also had two rolls…. (I heart carb loading).
And last, but not least, I picked at my dad’s crab cake. It was fried, so I didn’t want to overdo it and cause a potential tummy ache. I had two or three bites and decided enough was enough!
After dinner, I drove to my mom’s hotel (she has her dog with her and has to stay at a dog-friendly place). Of course, the first thing I did was lay out my race clothes.
Pretty awesome bed spread, huh!? You know you love it.
OK – time to relax, hang with mommy, and get my game face ready. Enjoy your evening!
Thanks so much for all the well-wishes, by the way! It means a lot, and I will definitely think of the blogging community whenever tomorrow gets rough!
Keep having fun in Jacksonville!!!!!!
Best of luck in the race tomorrow!!
