After the GOTR 5K, the Husband and I hit up the Wells Fargo Championship at the very fancy Quail Hollow golf club. Tomorrow is Kristien’s birthday, and this is what he wanted to do for his big day!
Golf is actually really fun to watch in person. This was our fourth professional tourny together. When we lived in Florida, we went to The Player Championship in Jacksonville (which is next weekend, so if you live in the area, snag tickets off of Craigslist!).
We RUSHED to the tournament after a quick nap following the 5K, so we ate lunch in the car.
Hummus, tabouleh, veggies wrap.
And chips.
At the event, we met up with Nate and Ben.
Over the course of seven hours, we chased the pros, sat in the sun, drank beers, and ate ice cream, French fries, and pretzels. My only compliant about going to golf tournaments is there are NEVER healthy vegetarian options. Not that cinnamon-sugar pretzels are something to really moan about. Heh.
Golf fan girl moment: I ran up to Sergio Garcia and said, “Good job! Way to go!†and he smiled at me. Wahhhoooo!
We were so tired on the way home that we ended up picking up Thai takeout. At home, I added steamed broccoli to my cashew tofu and brown rice.
Oh, and despite running a 5K this morning and walking at least 3.0 miles during the tournament, my knee doesn’t hurt! Good sign, friends – very good sign!
Yay for no knee pain! I just started training for a half marathon and I’m already having some knee issues so hearing your good news makes me feel good. (not to worry, I plan on dropping out immediately if there is even a chance of permanent injury)
Also, yay for cinnamon pretzels 😀
